Check out Summerhill’s new taqueria and gastropub, complete with a full bar and authentic Mexican fare. After three years of delays, D Boca N Boca opened at 39 Georgia Avenue on Friday, June 17.

The restaurant serves as the permanent home of owner Helio Bernal’s food truck, The Real Mexican Vittles, which is well-known throughout the city and can be found at festivals and special events. Bernal and his team will serve traditional Mexican dishes based on family recipes that Bernal has “perfected over the years.”

“The best of Mexico is represented as dishes from the Gulf regions of Veracruz and Yucatán mingle with the flavors of Mexico City,” according to a press release. Highlights on the menu include ceviche and aguachile, street tacos, and “Huachinango,” a Veracruz-style roasted whole red snapper.

Aside from authentic food, guests can expect margaritas and cocktails with in-house infusions, local and Mexican beers, and small-batch liquors.

D Boca N Boca joins Carter’s Summerhill development’s other food and beverage concepts, which include How Crispy, Maepole, Wood’s Chapel BBQ, Halfway Crooks Beer, and others. A restaurant by chef Duane Nutter, Redacted, and an arcade bar Press Start are also set to open by the end of 2022.
