Congratulations are in order for Ludacris!

Atlanta rapper and actor, Christopher Bridges, also known as Ludacris, is going to be honored with his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year.

Many were surprised to learn that Ludacris is actually being honored in the Motion Picture category, as opposed to the Recording category, considering his longstanding rap career. Ludacris’ acting career is definitely worth acknowledging though; his acting resume includes the box office hit “Fast and Furious” franchise, several episodes of “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Hustle and Flow,” his own Netflix hit animation series “Karma’s World,” and the list goes on.

Ludacris took to Twitter to share his excitement about the news, writing “Hey Momma, Your Son Is Being Selected To Receive a STAR on the Hollywood Walk of Fame In 2023 God is the greatest.”

The Hollywood Walk of Fame 24-person class of 2023 was announced by Ellen K, the chair of the Chamber’s Walk of Fame selection panel. Ludacris is in good company as there are several other big name honorees receiving their stars – his fellow costar from the “Fast and Furious” franchise, the late Paul Walker, Martin Lawrence, Ellen Pompeo, Marc Anthony, the Jonas Brothers and Lenny Kravitz among others.

This has been an eventful couple of weeks for Ludacris – it was just last month that he was awarded an honorary Bachelors of Science degree in Music Management from Georgia State during their commencement ceremony.

Ludacris had actually taken classes at Georgia State In 1998 and 1999 before he was signed to Def Jam Records. Due to him signing, he left Georgia State without his degree but did return in 2019 to act as their artist-in-residence. In that role, he mentored students and collaborated with professors who were dealing with entrepreneurship in the film and music industry.
