Actor Jon Hamm is probably best known for his role as the dapper Don Draper of AMC's "Mad Men" fame, but in recent years, Hamm has also played a globally savvy baseball scout in the film "Million Dollar Arm" and a suburban spy in "Keeping Up With the Joneses."

Up next he's part of a heist gang in the film "Baby Driver," which is due out later this month, but Hamm once had a surprising role most fans probably don't know anything about: daycare teacher.

“I was always into trying to be an educator,” Hamm, who majored in English at the University of Missouri, said.

“When I was in college I taught daycare. I knew how important that is to early childhood development. There aren’t a lot of men in that profession, which is too bad.”

Hamm, an Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor, had a knack for connecting with kids, but decided to try acting, instead, which proved to be a good choice.
