Fresh off closing its PanelPicker voting, South by Southwest Interactive on Tuesday announced the opening keynote speaker for the 2016 festival as well as 12 featured speakers and interviewers.
Casey Gerald, the co-founder and CEO of MBAs Across America, will open the festival as the first keynote speaker on March 11. Gerald, who hails from Dallas, started a movement for MBAs and entrepreneurs with a Harvard Business School Class Day speech that drew attention.
The festival also announced another set of Featured Speaker programming including:
- Food adventurer Anthony Bourdain, who'll be talking about digital media, interviewed by Roads & Kingdoms CEO Nathan Thornburgh.
- VOX Media CEO and Chairman Jim Bankoff.
- Founder and Executive Director of Black Girls CODE Kimberly Bryant.
- Slack co-founder Stewart Butterfield, interviewed by New York Times tech columnist Farhad Manjoo.
- Jane Park, founder and CEO of Julep Beauty.
- Chief Development Officer and co-founder of Indiegogo, Danae Ringelmann, interviewed by ELLE.com editor Leah Chernikoff.
- Voto Latino founder Maria Teresa Kumar.
- uBeam CEO and Founder Meredith Perry
- Oblong Industries CEO John Underkoffler.
