Did you miss National Ice Cream Day this past weekend?
Don’t worry. There are still a few free and cheap ways to get ice cream this summer.
Sign up for email/ membership clubs
One of my local places Bruster’s offers many coupons to save on their ice cream and other products. Find out if you have one nearby — search here for a location. Then sign up for their emails/coupons. Also request text message alerts. Most ice cream shops or frozen yogurt shops have membership programs. Join them to earn points for free treats. Sometimes in your local Redplum discount mailer, they will send coupon booklets with a lot of other coupons. Never throw your junk mail away!
Free Samples
Sometimes grocery stores will provide free samples of their ice cream product whenever there is a new flavor. If you have a local Publix grocery store, they almost always have an Ice Cream Social to experience the flavor of a new ice cream product. My local store had one this month and there were a lot of people who came out just to see and taste the new product. Be sure to sign up for your local grocery store email to keep up to date with all the latest events and customer opportunities.
Coupon Inserts
Different brands of ice cream and ice cream appropriate toppings will sometimes appear in your local newspaper coupon inserts. I have already seen coupons for brands like Turkey Hill, So Delicious, Mayfield, Breyers, Smuckers, and more. Sometimes there are coupons in a SmartSource blinkie machine right in front of the product. Don’t forget to check there as well as with any store coupon flyers. Publix produces their own store coupons and sometimes there is an opportunity to use both a Publix store and a Manufacturer coupon together.
Quida can find a coupon for almost anything and she often surprises cashiers when she checks out. For more tips on saving and couponing, visit Quida at Simple Savings for ATL Moms. Connect and interact with her on Twitter , Facebook, and Instagram.
