Savings for Summer
Watermelon, chicken, corn, ribs, hot dogs, produce: Get ready for Memorial Day weekend cookouts with deals at Wal-Mart. This week, whole seedless watermelons are $4.87, boneless chicken breasts are $1.99 per pound, sweet corn is 20 cents per ear, pork spare ribs are $1.97 per pound, Oscar Mayer Classic Wieners (10 count, 16-ounce packages) are $1.50 each (down from $2.50), limes are 20 cents each and avocados are 98 cents each.
Hot dogs, chicken, chips: Kroger has selected varieties of Ball Park hot dogs (15 ounce) on sale for $1.25 each. Use the 55-cent coupon from the April 12 RedPlum to pay 70 cents each. Perdue boneless chicken breasts on sale "buy one, get one free." Lays potato chips (10.5-ounce bags) are on sale for $1.99.
Coppertone: Walgreens has Coppertone Suncare items on sale for $7 each when you buy two. Use the $4-off-two coupon from the May 17 circular to pay $5 each.
Deals on snacks and beverages
Pepsi, Coke: Use the in-ad coupon on the first page of Rite Aid's store ad to save $2 on three Pepsi product 12-pack cans, on sale for $3.33 each. Your final cost after the coupon will be $2.67 per 12-pack. Walgreens has 12-pack cans of Coca-Cola products, A&W, 7UP, Sunkist or Canada Dry soft drinks on sale for $3 each when you buy three.
Water: Rite Aid has 24 packs 16.9-ounce bottles of Simplify purified water for $1.99 each, or just 8.3 cents per bottle. That's a stock-up price.
Chips, nuts, ice cream: Rite Aid has "buy one, get one free" promotions on summer entertainment foods such as Doritos or Lay's Chips (9.5 to 11 ounce), Planters mixed nuts and cashews (8 to 10.3 ounce) and Breyer's Ice Cream (48-ounce cartons).
Kroger Promotions
Kroger has a promotion that gives you a free dozen Kroger large eggs when you buy a package of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter (8- to 16-ounce sizes), on sale for $1.99 each.
Get a free item on Fridays from Kroger.com. Friday’s Free Friday Download is a Hershey’s Caramels Milk Chocolate candy bar (1.1 ounce). Download the digital coupon to your Kroger Plus card any time from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Friday and use it by June 7 to get your free candy bar.
