Atlanta students now have the chance to see the movie “Selma” this weekend free of charge.

To take advantage of the discount, any 7th, 8th and 9th graders can show his or her student ID or report card at the box office of any of the following participating metro-area theaters, and get free tickets while they last.

The movement was initiated by African-American business leaders in New York and organizations across the U.S. when the film was released.

Yesterday, Selma, a biopic about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. that was largely filmed in the metro area, was nominated for two Academy Awards — best picture and best original song.

Theaters participating in the free student screening include:

AMC PARKWAY POINTE 15
AMC PHIPPS PLAZA 14
AMC SOUTHLAKE 24
AMC STONECREST 16
