Freezing temps are gone, but rain is headed back to Atlanta
Showers are expected to return Wednesday, when there is a 30 percent chance of rain.
“As we head through tonight, northeast winds and low clouds will develop,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said. Rain should hit the metro area by noon.

Rain chances increase to 40 and 80 percent on Thursday and Friday, respectively, he said.
The weekend is expected to be dry but cold again, with temperatures in the 20s and 30s.

But Atlanta should stay warm for much of the week.
Atlanta reached a high of 65 degrees. This is the first time temperatures have reached the 60s this year, Channel 2 reported. Tuesday is Atlanta’s warmest day since Dec. 23 when the city reached 69 degrees.
The current temperature is 54, and temps are forecast to run above the average of 52 degrees through Friday, according to Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton. Atlanta could see highs of 53 Wednesday, 62 Thursday and 63 Friday.
