Bundle up Thursday.

A cold front passing through Wednesday night is expected to bring temperatures into the 40s.

Expect for Friday to be even more frigid with temps in the 20s.

After reaching a high of 62 degrees in Atlanta on Wednesday, the latest forecast indicates temperatures will begin a slow drop.

"No question about it. We've got beautiful weather for this time of year, sunshine and mid-50s," Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz said. "But we've got 20s right around the corner, the coldest we've had since February."

A cold front is expected to reach the state Thursday morning that could mean below-freezing weather in Atlanta and a few sprinkles in far North Georgia, meteorologists said.

By Friday, metro Atlanta could wake up to lows in the 20s.

The next possibility of rain in metro Atlanta is Sunday, when there is a 30 percent chance.

Temperatures were 47 degrees in Atlanta, 43 in Blairsville and 44 in Griffin just before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
