Georgia linebacker Roquan Smith was presented with the 2017 Butkus Award Sunday night at the Georgia Senior Awards Gala.

In a video posted by Georgia Football, Smith can be watched as he was surprised with the 33rd annual Butkus Award which recognizes the best linebacker in college football.

Smith beat Wisconsin's T.J. Edwards, Virginia Tech's Tremaine Edmunds, Michigan's Devin Bush and Clemson's Dorian O'Daniel for the honor, according to ESPN.

Smith, the MVP of the Bulldogs’ SEC Championship win on Saturday also received a personal message from Dick Butkus as he was given the award.

In his third season at Georgia, Smith recorded 100 total tackles, 4.5 sacks, two deflected passes and one forced fumble.
