Venus Williams advanced to her ninth Wimbledon final on Thursday after defeating Britain’s Johanna Konta in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.

When Williams plays in her first Wimbledon singles final since 2009 on Saturday, the 37-year-old tennis champion could become the oldest women's Grand Slam champion in Open Era.

Williams recorded her 87th singles win on Thursday, the most among any active female player.

After the match, Williams said she thought she played well, but missed her sister Serena who is not at Wimbledon this year because she’s pregnant with her first child.
