Columbia Fireflies’ Tim Tebow takes the field during the team’s minor league baseball game against the Augusta GreenJackets on Thursday, April 6, 2017, in Columbia, S.C. Columbia defeated Augusta 14-7.

Tim Tebow hit 3-for-4 and scored two runs on Wednesday night to propel the Columbia Fireflies over the Asheville Tourists.

The Fireflies (12-9) won Wednesday’s game— the final in a three-game series— by the score of 5-0.

One of Tebow’s three hits was a triple.

Although the former Heisman-winner has demonstrated improvement, he’s not up for a promotion just yet.

In one week, Tebow raised his batting average from .156 to .246.

"The Mets have a long-term plan," Fireflies' President John Katz said according to The State. "This has been a great stretch for him and the Fireflies. We want to see the players be successful, and it is fun to see these guys progress. And when the time is right for Tim, when he is ready, he will move up and, hopefully, he will be successful. I just couldn't put a timetable on when that will be."
