Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts will likely transfer if he doesn't win the starting quarterback job this season, according to a report Thursday by Bleacher Report.

Hurts started for the Crimson Tide as a freshman in 2016 and last season before being replaced by freshman quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in the second half of January’s College Football Playoff National Championship Game against Georgia.

Despite the heroics of Tagovailoa that won Alabama its 17th National Championship, the junior quarterback from Channelview, Texas would change schools before he would think about changing positions.

“Coach Saban's job is to do what's best for his team,” Jalen’s father, Averion,  said in the interview with Bleacher Report. “ I have no problem with that. My job is to do what's best for Jalen, and make no mistake, Jalen is a quarterback, and he wants to play quarterback. He loves Alabama, loves Coach Saban and everything about that place. But he wants to play, and he will play.”

The interview with Averion Hurts and full story on Hurt's future at Alabama can be read on Bleacher Report's official website.
