Atlanta United manager Gerardo Martino will bring 34-36 players to training camp on Jan. 23 in Bradenton, Fla.

The team has 23 players following Friday's SuperDraft in which Syracuse defenders Miles Robinson and Providence midfielder Julian Gressel were selected with the Nos. 2 and 8 picks.

Included within that group headed to training camp will be six players from the team’s U-18 and U-16 academy squads so that they can gain experience.

Technical director Carlos Bocanegra said the team is close to filling its roster, and hopes to announce a few signings next week.

Martino also shared his opinion on signing Miguel Almiron and Yamil Asad, midfielders from Argentina. Almiron played at Lanus. Asad played at Velez Sarsfield.

“In Argentina last year, he (Almiron) was one of the top three best players,” Martino said. “He has a big future.”

He said that Asad is very good in one-on-one situations and can play differnet positions.
