Georgia Tech quarterback Matthew Jordan was nominated for the 2017 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, the American Football Coaches Association announced on Monday.

Jordan was one of 146 student-athletes nominated on Monday because of his dedication to volunteering and improving the lives of others.

With two seasons of college eligibility remaining, Jordan totaled 243 rushing yards, 111 passing yards and seven total touchdowns last season with the Yellow Jackets.

The Georgia Tech junior does much of his community work with young people who are diagnosed with diabetes. Jordan was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 11 years old and is active in several charities that are advocates for diabetes and finding a cure.

The 11 spots on the NCAA-Division I FBS as well as the 11 spots on the Division I FCS, Division II, Division III and NAIA team will be revealed in September. The finalists will be chosen by former Good Works Team members and members of the college football media.
