Matt Ryan ranks second-best in adjusted completion percentage on third downs

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan finished last season with the second-best adjusted completion percentage on third downs, according to Pro Football Focus.

With a third-down adjusted completion percentage of 79.8 percent, Ryan finished his MVP season behind Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady who led the League with a 81.1 adjusted completion percentage.

Pro Football Focus defines adjusted completion as a quarterback’s completion percentage that accounts for drops, throwaways, spikes, deflected passes and throws when the quarterback is hit.

Trailing Ryan in adjusted completion percentage on third down were Minnesota's Sam Bradford (76.8), New Orleans' Drew Brees (76.5) and Dallas' Dak Prescott (75.2).
