Former University of Georgia guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has agreed to a one-year, $18 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to ESPN.

The deal makes Caldwell-Pope one of the ten highest paid shooting guards in the league after the Detroit Pistons renounced Caldwell-Pope’s $4.9 million one-year qualifying offer on July 7.

Pope played with the Pistons for four seasons after being drafted by Detroit with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.

Caldwell-Pope averaged 13.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists last season with the Pistons.

The NBA announced in late June, the former Georgia standout guard was suspended for two games of the 2017-2018 season for pleading guilty to operating a vehicle while intoxicated in March.
