Braves add left-handed pitcher Andrew Albers to a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training. Albers is 2-5 and 4.41 ERA in 17 games (12 starts) with Minnesota.

Gwinnett Braves’ pitcher Andrew Albers was named International League Pitcher of the Week for his performance from July 13-16.

During the week of July 13-16, Albers pitched one game and recorded 8.0 scoreless innings with four hits, one walk and six strike outs. In his win over the Charlotte Knights, the 30-year-old left-hander went 1-0 and had an ERA of 0.00 in in the G-Braves’ 6-1 win.

Albers started 12 games with Gwinnett after signing a minor league deal with the Braves in December. In 21 games with Gwinnett, Albers has a 9-3 with Gwinnett this season and ranked second among IL pitching leaders in wins, sixth in ERA and sixth in strikeouts (88) as of July 17.
