Georgia Tech guard Parker Braun was named to the 2017 Outland Trophy watch list on Thursday by the Football Writers Association of America.

The sophomore from Hallsville, Texas was one of 81 student-athletes nominated for the annual the Outland Trophy which is presented to the nation’s best interior lineman.

Braun started at the left guard spot for the final eight games of the season, helping the Yellow Jackets finish the season with a 6-2 record.

On Nov. 19, Braun became the first Georgia Tech freshman to be named ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week for his 10 tackle performance against No. 18 Virginia.

Braun was also named to ESPN’s true freshman all-America team in 2016.
