Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm was named SEC Freshman of the Year on Wednesday.

In leading Georgia to its first SEC Championship since 2005, Fromm recorded an 11-1 record as a starter.

Fromm threw for 2,173 yards, five touchdowns and 21 touchdowns.

Fromm, of Houston County, was an AJC Super 11 selection in 2016.
