Five-star prospect Nassir Little announced his commitment Wednesday afternoon to North Carolina. Georgia Tech had been one of his five finalists, and his AAU coach said Wednesday morning that he believed that Little was choosing between Tech and North Carolina.

Little, a 6-foot-6 forward from Orange Park, Fla., is ranked the No. 14 prospect in the 2018 class by ESPN. He would have been the most significant commitment in the tenure of coach Josh Pastner, who has two prospects committed in the senior class. Guard Michael Devoe of Orlando, Fla., and forward Kristian Sjolund of Katy, Texas, both four-star prospects (ESPN), have announced their plans to sign with Tech. He has a third scholarship available.

Particularly through assistant coach Darryl LaBarrie, Tech had developed a strong relationship with Little, whose first official visit was to Tech. However, the allure of North Carolina, which offered him a scholarship at the end of July, proved too strong.

Little was quoted in an ESPN report after his announcement that he loved Tar Heels coach Roy Williams, wanted to attend a basketball school and that winning was important to him.
