Charges against Georgia linebacker Natrez Patrick will be dropped, his attorney told ESPN Thursday.

Patrick and reserve wide receiver Jayson Stanley were arrested Dec. 3 in Barrow County on misdemeanor marijuana charges after the SEC Championship game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

The arrest was Patrick's third drug related arrest after being arrested for another misdemeanor drug charge earlier this season which led to suspension. A junior from Atlanta, Patrick faced dismissal from the team ahead of the Rose Bowl matchup against the Oklahoma Sooners.

According to the ESPN report, the Winder district attorney's office also dropped DUI charges against Stanley during a hearing Thursday at Barrow County. Stanley, who was the driver of the vehicle at the time of arrest, agreed to plead guilty to misdemeanor possession of marijuana and speeding.

Bodycam footage of the arrest, showed Stanley begging officers to reconsider the charges.

After the arrest, coach Kirby Smart said discipline would be handled internally.
