Miami will be without an instrumental player when it faces Georgia Tech Saturday. Hurricanes running back Mark Walton is reportedly out for the season after suffering an ankle injury that will require injury. He was injured in Saturday's win over Florida State.

Walton, a third-team All-ACC selection last year as a sophomore, had run for 428 yards on 56 carries in four games this season. A powerful runner with quickness and vision, Walton had 13 rushes for 10 yards or more this season.

As it prepared for Miami this past week during its open date, Tech was well aware of Walton, although the Jackets had largely contained him in his first two games against the Yellow Jackets.

Safety A.J. Gray called him a “great back,” saying he “just runs hard; shifty.”

Miami has three running backs on scholarship – Travis Homer, Trayone Gray and Robert Burns. Homer has 25 carries for 207 yards and three touchdowns this season.
