Georgia Tech safety A.J. Gray was recognized for his play against Miami by the website Pro Football Focus, as he was named to the PFF ACC defensive team of the week.

Gray received a grade of 87.2, the highest of any ACC safety from this weekend’s games. Gray made a particularly memorable play in the fourth quarter on the Hurricanes’ two-point attempt, reading quarterback Malik Rosier’s pass into the end zone and jumping the route to deflect the pass. It preserved Tech’s lead at 24-22. Gray was credited with six tackles in the game.

Gray was also the ACC’s defensive back of the week after his two-interception game against North Carolina.

Gray isn’t the only Yellow Jacket that Pro Football Focus has recognized. B-back KirVonte Benson is the No. 5 ACC running back in “Elusive Rating.” Cornerback Step Durham is No. 4 among ACC cornerbacks in lowest passer rating when targeted at 47.9.
