Georgia offensive lineman Pat Allen has announced his intention to transfer.

On Tuesday, Allen used Twitter to make the announcement. His account is private, but Allen wrote, "After careful consideration and careful talks with my family and my coaches, it's with pain in my heart that I inform you all and DawgNation that I will be transferring and opening my recruitment from the University of Georgia," per the Athens Banner-Herald's Marc Weiszer.

Allen, who’s 6-foot-4, 305 pounds, started at left guard to open the 2017 season. But Kendall Baker replaced him at the position. Allen appeared in six games in 2017. He redshirted in 2015 and appeared in two games in 2016.

Allen was a former 4-star prospect from Maryland.
