Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Chris Long says he won’t join his team on the traditional White House visit if the Eagles win the Super Bowl.

Long, a 10-year NFL veteran of the NFL who played for the Patriots last season, skipped New England’s visit to the White House earlier this year because he didn’t want to be on the “wrong side of history”, according to the New York Daily News.

“No, I'm not going to the White House. Are you kidding me?” Long said on Barstool Sports' “Pardon My Take” podcast.

Long, who vocally supported teammate Malcolm Jenkins and others who protested during playing of the national anthem, made headlines earlier this season when he announced he would donate his entire 2017 salary to educational charities like one in his hometown of Charlottesville, Va.
