Former Georgia Tech wide receiver Calvin Johnson and former Tennessee linebacker Al Wilson will serve as honorary captains for their respective teams at the 2017 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game on Monday night.

Keeping with the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game tradition of inviting notable alumni to join the teams before kickoff, Johnson and Wilson will join team captains at midfield for the coin flip.

Johnson, a two-time All-American wide receiver, played for the Yellow Jackets from 2004-2006 where he accumulated 2,927 receiving yards and 28 touchdowns.

After his three seasons at Georgia Tech, Johnson was drafted by the Detroit Lions with the second overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft. Johnson played with the Lions for nine seasons and recorded 11,619 receiving yards and 83 touchdowns before retiring after the 2015 season.

Wilson, an All-American in 1998, was known as Tennessee’s defensive quarterback from 1996-1998. Wilson went on to play eight seasons for the Denver Broncos after the team drafted him in the first round of the 1999 NFL Draft.

Monday’s game, the second of two Chick-fil-A Kickoff Games over the Labor Day weekend, will kickoff at 8 p.m. at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
