At some point, the Hawks will have to trim the training camp roster from the current team of 20 players.

Just don’t expect any moves in the near future, according to coach Mike Budenholzer.

“Maybe because of the few (injured) guys but I’m not feeling a need or pressure to trim it down,” Budenholzer said Thursday morning before an exhibition game against the Pistons. “Those things can change for different circumstances and you may do something. There is not anything imminent.”

The Hawks will play the fourth of seven exhibition games tonight. It is difficult to play all 20 who suit up while trying to get regulars re-acclimated to the offensive and defensive systems with two new starters and getting players in game shape. The Hawks have not played several players in each of their previous exhibition games. The next exhibition game is Sunday at the Magic.

The Hawks must trim to a maximum of 15 players by Oct. 26, the day before the regular-season opener against the Wizards. They have 16 players under guaranteed or substantially guaranteed contracts. In addition, camp invitees Ryan Kelly, Will Bynum, Matt Costello and Josh Magette are on the roster.
