Hawks’ first-round draft pick Lucas Nogueira is currently working out in Atlanta following the end of his Spanish League season last month. He has been joined by fellow 2013 draftees Dennis Schroder and Mike Muscala and a rotating cast of Hawks veterans.

Nogueira is expected to spend much of his offseason in Atlanta but may also work out in Los Angeles.

The native of Brazil, who turns 22 next month, was selected with the 16th overall pick by the Celtics on behalf of the Mavericks and obtained by the Hawks in a trade draft-night trade in last year’s NBA Draft.

Nogueira played for Asefa Estudiantes Madrid of the ACB League last season. He left the team for two months to come to the United States for rehabilitation for tendinitis in his knees. In 18 games for Estudiantes he averaged 6.2 points and 4.1 rebounds in 17 minutes. He was named the league’s top defensive player.

Nogueira, who is expected to play with the Hawks in the Las Vegas Summer League in July, still has one year remaining on his contract with Estudiantes. His contract would have to be bought out in order to join the Hawks next season.
