Paul Millsap will not play in the Hawks exhibition game against the Pistons Thursday night. The power forward did not take part in the team’s shoot-around due to illness, which also caused him to miss practice on Wednesday.

It will be the fourth exhibition game Millsap has missed, the first three solely due to right knee rehabilitation.

Millsap took part in his first full-contact practice on Tuesday before being sidelined due to the illness. He had a non-surgical procedure on his knee before the start of training camp and was expected to miss at least the first three weeks. He had recently ramped up his practice participation.

The Hawks will also be without Tiago Splitter (right hamstring strain) and Jarrett Jack (right knee rehabilitation). Jack has yet to take part in contact portions of practice.

With a roster of 20 players, Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said Thabo Sefolosha and Mike Muscala will sit out against the Pistons.
