The Braves stood pat at MLB’s non-waiver trade deadline on Monday afternoon.

Multiple reports indicated that the Braves were in talks with the Athletics about acquiring starting pitcher Sonny Gray. But the Yankees ended up getting Gray in exchange for three prospects and $1.5 million in international bonus pool money.

After sweeping the Diamondbacks July 14-16 the Braves were 45-45, the first time they had a .500 record since they were 6-6. That left the Braves six games behind the Rockies for the second NL wild card but they’ve lost 11 of 14 games since.

The Braves have added big-league players with two trades during the season.

They sent the Cardinals a prospect and cash in May for first baseman Matt Adams, who replaced Freddie Freeman in the lineup while Freeman was on the disabled list. The Braves acquired infielder/outfielder Danny Santana from the Twins in May for left-handed reliever Kevin Chapman.

The Braves last week acquired minor league pitcher Huascar Ynoa in exchange for veteran lefty Jaime Garcia.
