Braves manager Brian Snitker said left fielder Matt Kemp’s sore right hamstring likely will keep him out of the lineup until Tuesday at Miami.

Kemp wasn’t in the lineup Saturday at Pittsburgh after he left Friday’s game with the injury. Snitker said the hamstring improved overnight, but the Braves want to give Kemp more rest before putting him back in the field.

Snitker said Kemp could be available to pinch hit against the Pirates on Saturday and Sunday. The Braves are off Monday before opening a two-game series at the Marlins on Tuesday.

“It’s a day-to-day thing,” Snitker said. “We want to make sure. We are four games in. We just don’t want to take any chances.”

Kemp left the game Friday after hitting a single in the sixth inning. He complained of a tight hamstring after making a diving catch of Josh Harrison’s fly ball in the bottom of the fifth. The cold weather exacerbated the tightness.

Kemp was 2-for-3 against the Pirates to improve to 8-for-16 with a walk over the first four games. Kemp had six extra-base hits in the three-game series at the Mets, with four doubles and two home runs.
