Atlanta United midfielder Andrew Carleton was named to the 2017 MLS Homegrown Team, Major League Soccer announced on Wednesday.

At 17 years old, Carleton became Atlanta United’s first Homegrown signee in June 2016.

Since then, the Powder Springs native made his MLS debut on May 20 in Atlanta’s 4-1 win over the Houston Dynamo at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Carleton was also part of the United States U-17 team which finished in second during May’s CONCACAF U-17 Championship.

The 2017 MLS Homegrown Team will take on Chivas de Guadalajara’s Under-20 team on Aug. 1 at Chicago’s Toyota Park.
