Atlanta United and radio station 92.9 the Game are working on an agreement to make the radio station the flagship partner of the MLS expansion team, according to a person with knowledge of the discussions who isn’t authorized to speak on the record.

An email to two Atlanta United representatives hasn’t been returned. A voicemail left for 92.9’s program director hasn’t been returned.

The team will open the season Sunday hosting the New York Red Bulls at Georgia Tech’s Bobby Dodd Stadium.

The MLS team is owned by Arthur Blank, who also owns the Falcons, and 92.9 is the Falcons’ radio partner.

The station will start a preview show from Bobby Dodd Stadium starting at 4 p.m. Sunday. It will air until kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

The radio coverage will include home-and-away game coverage with a play-by-play announcer and analyst.

Atlanta United’s TV partner will be Fox Sports South.
