You can now get frequent flyer miles for your pet at this airline

Your pooch could be on his or her way to a free flight to Mexico or some other doggie paradise − if your airline of choice is Korean Air.

The airline recently announced its SKYPETS program, which grants pets that frequently fly the incentive of either flying for 50 percent off or for free.

“More and more pet owners are choosing to take their pets with them on flights and last year 25,000 Korean Air passengers did just that - a 50 percent increase on the previous year,” according to a statement on Korean Air’s website. “The Korean Air SKYPETS program is designed to make travelling with pets as stress free and simple as possible.”

The program is pretty simple: Your pet earns one stamp for every domestic flight within Korea and two for every international trip. After six stamps, you get half off the animal fees on a domestic trip. An international trip will mandate 12 stamps.

The pet bookings and requests apply to dogs, cats and birds, according to a Korean Air news release.

The pet perks don't just apply to those flying Korean Air. JetBlue, which recently began travel service from Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, also offers incentives for pets. Its JetPaws program offers 300 TrueBlue points for each flight to travelers flying with pets.
