When Prince Harry announced he was putting a ring on it aka planning to marry Meghan Markle Monday, social media stans went bonkers.
The world has watched closely as 33-year-old prince charmingly courted the American-born “Suits” actress over this past year. British royal family associates, through the Clarence House Twitter account, did the honors of making the engagement announcement.

Though some tweets were simply celebrating the royal union, many Tweeps took note of Prince Harry uniting with a woman outside of his race, which is a first for the royal family.

Though the wedding will probably be thousands of miles from America, some social media users feel close enough to the royal family to save the date (which hasn’t been announced just yet).
