Delta Air Lines passengers headed to Atlanta Wednesday night were diverted to Columbia, S.C., due to a string of strong storms across parts of north Georgia, but Delta treated them all to a little pizza for their pain.

The company confirmed delivering pizza to customers on five flights that were diverted to Columbia, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Some passengers even took to Twitter to express their gratitude. "Amazing job," one tweeted. "You can't control the weather, but you did control the communication. Thnx for the surprise pizza party on the plane!"

ABC News' Rob Marciano tweeted a photo from his plane-bound wife a flight attendant passing out pizza — which is not the first time Delta customers may have seen such a thing this year.
