A pedestrian hit more than a week ago trying to cross a busy Cobb County road has died, police said.

Demetrius Dandridge, 32, died Sunday after trying to cross from the south to the north side of the East-West Connector on Oct. 1, Cobb police Sgt. Dana Pierce said.

The Marietta man was walking east of Marathon Circle outside of a crosswalk at the time of the accident, police said. He was hit by a 2006 Toyota 4Runner heading west on the Connector in the right lane, Pierce said.

The driver was not injured. She had a child with her at the time, and the child also wasn’t injured, Pierce said.
