One man was killed and two others were injured in a two-car crash Wednesday in southwest Atlanta, police said.

The fatal wreck occurred near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Harwell Road just after 5 p.m., Atlanta police spokeswoman Officer TaSheena Brown said.

One driver, identified as David Freeman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passenger from the second vehicle were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive, Brown said.

Details about what caused the crash weren’t immediately available, but no charges are expected. Traffic in the area was shut down during the evening commute as police investigated, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.
