5 things to know today: Trump down to final Cabinet picks

1. Perdue in running for Trump Cabinet. Donald Trump is down to two secretary-level Cabinet positions, and former Gov. Sonny Perdue is a contender for one of them. With much of his top administration officials settled, including his pick of U.S. Rep. Tom Price of Roswell for health secretary, the president-elect must still tap his Agriculture Secretary. [Read here] 

2. Shooting victims found in car outside Marietta Exxon. Marietta police are trying to piece together a deadly double shooting. Officers found two people with critical injuries in a car outside an Exxon gas station about 10:44 p.m. Thursday, police say. [Read here] 

3. State sets toll on interstate express lanes. The State Road and Tollway Authority board Thursday approved toll rates for the new I-75 south metro express lanes that will open in late January. Motorists who use the lanes will pay tolls ranging from 10 cents to 90 cents per mile for the privilege, the board determined. The minimum price for any trip will be 50 cents. [Read here]

4. Amanda Davis exclusive interview on her arrest. Veteran broadcast anchor Amanda Davis, in an exclusive interview Thursday, said her own lack of oversight led to her arrest Tuesday over a suspended driver's license. "It was a misunderstanding on my part," said Davis, who is joining CBS46 (WGCL-TV) as a new morning anchor starting Jan. 2 after nearly four years off the air. [Read here] 

5. Cold weather to linger all morning. Temperatures were 30 degrees in Atlanta, 20 in Blairsville and 30 in Griffin just before 7 a.m. However, the wind made temps feel like they were in the teens early Friday. [Read here]
