The first round is over, but voting in the runoff for Georgia’s 6th Congressional District is right around the corner.

May 2 is the first day for absentee voting by mail in the match-up between Democrat Jon Ossoff and Republican Karen Handel, Secretary of State Brian Kemp’s office said.

Advance in-person voting will begin May 30 while June 16 is the last day to mail or issue absentee ballots for the June 20 runoff.

Want to cast a ballot in the runoff but haven’t registered  to vote yet? Sorry, you’re out of luck. State law says you had to have been registered to vote in March to be able to participate in June.

Channel 2's Richard Elliot reports.
