6th District election: Cobb announces early voting sites in Ossoff-Handel race

Cobb will not be expanding early voting for the June 20 congressional runoff between Democrat Jon Ossoff and Republican Karen Handel, Board of Elections Director Janine Eveler said Thursday.

Fulton County added additional locations this week, and DeKalb will consider a similar measure on May 11.

Some 55,000 voters from east Cobb to north DeKalb cast ballots in the April 18 special election which is being viewed, in part, as a referendum on President Donald Trump.

But Ossoff’s supporters raised concerns that the most Democratic part of the district had no early voting sites, and have pushed for expansion.

Eligible Cobb voters can start casting ballots May 30 at the same locations that were available leading up to the April 18 special election.
