According to Mashable, residents from Corpus Christi to Lubbock saw the object, described as "a big, bright shooting star," about 8:45 p.m. CT, said Lara Keys of the National Weather Service's Corpus Christi station.

Authorities in San Antonio said the ground shook after the possible meteor was spotted, Mashable reported.
