Video shows Waffle House employees doing hair with restaurant equipment

Two employees at a Waffle House were caught on camera doing their hair in the restaurant’s kitchen.

It happened in Forrest City, Arkansas. The video is taken from the point of view of the kitchen counter, where customers would sit.

It shows one employee dipping her hair into a pot of water. When she removes her hair from the water, another employee helps wrap it with a towel.

The events all unfold in the kitchen, which is surrounded by cookware and other Waffle House supplies.

Antonio Robison told FOX13 he shot one of the videos.

"I just got out my phone and I just started to record," Robinson said. "I just thought it was nasty and I needed to let somebody see this.

We talked to another person who said she was inside the store when it all happened. When she saw one employee start treating another's braided hair in a pot of boiling water, she too started recording.

FOX13 spoke with people who live in the area and had not yet seen the video.

"Disgusting. Because I don't like hair in my food. I don't like hair anywhere where I'm cooking. It's just nasty," Cynthia Millbrooks said.

FOX13 reached out to Waffle House management, and they sent us the following response:

“We were made aware of this via a Facebook Private message this morning. We immediately reached out to the local management team. After identifying the parties involved, they were immediately terminated. The health department has been out to the restaurant for an inspection which it passed and they have closed the case. We do not tolerate these behaviors and strive to provide a clean, safe environment for all our customers.”
