As the two-weekend Fyre Festival set on a private island in the Bahamas descended into disarray, social media users brought out the most brutal of jokes at the expense of the several festival-goers left stranded, some of whom paid up to $12,000 to attend.

The festival, organized by rapper Ja Rule and entrepreneur Billy McFarland and endorsed by high-profile models Bella Hadid and Hailey Baldwin, raved about “a cultural moment created from a blend of music, art, and food” with headlining acts such as Blink-182, Migos, Major Lazer and more.
But as attendees made their way to the Bahamas Thursday, posts of the festival’s lack of organization and inadequate transportation, as well as complaints of lost luggage and scenes of chaos flooded Twitter, Reddit and other social media.
