A New York teenager hit the jackpot when he randomly bought a scratch-off lottery ticket at a convenience store while putting air in his car tires.

Anthony Iavarone, 19, of Clifton Park in Saratoga County, won $1 million on a $10 dollar Cashword scratch-off, according to NewYorkUpstate.com.

State lottery officials announced the win on Friday.

The teen, who bought the game at a Ballston store, said he was so surprised when he scratched off the winning card, he really didn’t believe it and took the card to his dad to verify.

Iavarone decided on a one-time lump sum payment, which, after taxes, amounts to almost $662,000.
