Tuesday is Tax Day, the day your federal and state income tax returns are due.
For many, it’s not a happy day.
But, there is some good news amid the tax return blues. A few nationwide chains are offering Tax Day “freebies” (or at least discounts) to take the sting out of preparing those returns.
Here are some freebies and deals - generally available on April 18 - to help you get to the other side of Tax Day.
Great American Cookies – The Great American Cookie Company will give each customer one free cookie on Tuesday.
Noodles & Company - Use the code TAXDAY17 when you checkout online at Noodles & Company to get $4 off a $10 or more order. This deal is valid April 12-18.
Firehouse Subs - Get a free medium sub at Firehouse Subs when you purchase a medium or large sub, chips, and a drink. This offer is valid April 18-20.
Boston Market - Boston Market is offering a half chicken meal with 2 sides, cornbread, regular sized fountain drink, and a cookie for $10.40.
Bruegger's Bagels - Get 13 bagels at Bruegger's for $10.40 from April 12-19.
Sonny's BBQ - Get a half-priced rib dinner at Sonny's on Tuesday.
Capriotti's – Upgrade free from a small sandwich to a medium size at Capriotti's on Tuesday.
Hungry Howie's: Buy a one-topping large pizza at regular price and you can get a one-topping medium pizza for 18¢ by entering the code TAXDAY with your online order. The promotion is valid at participating locations from Monday to Wednesday.
McDonald’s – Participating restaurants are offering a deal that lets you buy one Big Mac or Quarter Pounder with Cheese and get one for a penny on Tuesday. Be sure to check with your local restaurant first.
World of Beer – World of Beer is giving customers a free beer.
Kona Ice – You can get a free tropical shaved ice cone on Tax Day.
California Tortilla – The restaurant is offering free queso and chips with any order on Tuesday when you mention the password “tax crunch” to your server.
National Parks: You can get free entrance into a national park on the weekend before Tax Day (April 15-16), and the weekend after (April 22-23). It’s National Park Week.
