When Ileana Martinez woke up Sunday morning with severe stomach cramps, she knew something was wrong. She was in for the surprise of her life.

“If I heard this story from somebody, I’d say she's lying,” she said.

Her sister thought she had an ovarian cyst. She went to the hospital and an ultrasound first revealed she was 15 weeks pregnant.

"Everything just happened so quick," Martinez told WFXT.

A second ultrasound brought a bigger surprise.

"I get admitted to labor and delivery and she's like, oh yeah…so you're actually around 36-38 weeks...right when she finished the sentence, my water just broke,” Martinez said.

Jaxson Kenny Jean-Pierre arrived shortly after that, and dad came to the hospital, needing to see it to believe it.

"I’m guessing he was tucked under a rib," Martinez said.

Martinez, 23, had no normal symptoms of pregnancy - she was on birth control, getting her menstrual cycle and maybe gained 5 pounds.

It was the surprise of a lifetime for this Norton woman, who calls her little bundle a big blessing.

"I’ve always been an aunt, and I would keep the kids for the longest and then give them back to the mother and the father and be like here take your kids...I can’t give him back now. He's mine and I don’t feel like he's mine...it's just so surreal,” she said.

Jaxson is 5 pounds, 4 ounces, and despite no prenatal care, he's healthy.

Since the family wasn't expecting him at all, they are now starting to purchase baby stuff, including a car seat today, which they obviously needed to bring him home. Anyone interested in donating can email them here.
