SAN DIEGO – A couple tied the knot in a hospital room after an emergency almost cancelled the big day.
Gilbert and Margie were high school sweethearts in the Philippines who had reconnected via Facebook after 22 years apart.
They planned their destination wedding in San Diego, but just as family and friends were arriving from out of the country, Gilbert’s appendix burst, sending him to the hospital.
So, with some help from hospital staff, they turned the emergency room into their dream venue.
Oh, and the bride’s new name is Mrs. San Diego. Doctors say Mr. San Diego will probably be released within the next week.
