It’s unclear if "The Force” was with him or he boldly went where no one had before, but a fight over two of the biggest science fiction titles landed one man in jail, police said.

Jerome Dewayne Whyte, 23, and his roommate were arguing July 1 over whether the "Star Wars" or "Star Trek" franchise is better, according to KOKH.

The victim got upset and walked back to his room after he said to Whyte: “You’re just a trick.”

Whyte followed his roommate and shoved him to the ground. When the roommate got up, Whyte shoved him again to the ground, police said. Whyte also started to choke his roommate who was nearly unconscious when he pulled out a knife. Whyte reached for and cut himself on it and left the room.

Whyte was arrested and charged with assault, battery, possession of marijuana, and outstanding warrants, according to KOKH.
